Experts, fintech startups and senior banking executives converged at Fintech University to discuss the revolution ongoing in the sector. One common goal is to establish relations between the various players, to help convert competitiveness into improvements and progress in the ecosystem.

So said Carlos Castellanos, co-founder of Bankast, a mobile payments application, in an interview at the Fintech University event. The technological progress seen in the financial sector, he says, "is such that I believe this is an unstoppable process".

He also emphasized the importance of new payment regulations in Europe, which will provide the template for "how things need to be done". This, he believes, will usher in "extremely powerful change".
