What a cold day in New York! But that wasn’t an obstacle for our winners.Today’s agenda included a meeting with the Partnership Fund for NYC, Fintech Innovation Lab, a masterclass about the legal aspects of fundraising by Latham & Watkins and a pitching session for investors. And what a better way to end the day than a happy hour hosted by Finnovista!

The second day of the NY Crash Acceleration Week begun at the headquarters of the Partnership Fund for NYC where President & CEO, María Gotsch talked about the startup scene in New York. Maria pointed out the many advantages of New York: a collaborative community, a huge pool of professionals and many great initiatives; like the Fintech Innovation Lab supported by the Partnership Fund for NY.

“It’s a good time to be a tech entrepreneur in NY”, said María Gotsch during the first meeting this morning.

After Maria’s presentation, it was time to introduce Fintech Innovation LabThe Fintech Innovation Lab is a 12-week mentorship program that will start in early April. One of the biggest advantages of this program is not only the mentorship, but also the ability to connect the startups with the right people.

Our guests during the meeting with Fintech Innovation Lab.

A very interesting masterclass started at noon at Latham & Watkins. Our winners attended to a panel with Steven Betensky about intellectual property and were lucky enough to  get lessons from the top masters about emerging companies, mergers and acquisitions. Everyone learned a lot about the legal aspects of startups!

Steven Betensky, one of the more renowned patent and intellectual property lawyers in the world during the masterclass.

The evening continued with a session with investors hosted by Union Square Ventures, a leading NY-based VC fund investing in the technology space.

Hakim Karim, of GridMarkets, pitching to the investors.

To finish the day, what a better way to unwind after all the hard work than mingling with newyorkers in a genuine happy hour? Finnovista invited our winners and other professionals from NY startup scene to connect and get to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere.

Having fun at the Headless Horseman in the East Village. Cheers!
