PayKey wins the Wired Money Special Award

Of the 11 projects that were competing for the award at Wired Money, the jury was particularly struck by the innovative approach to secure payments via social networks provided by PayKey.

Wired Money was the stage for 11 startups involved in the BBVA Open Talent 2016 to compete for the Wired Money Special Award, the first of the special awards up for grabs in this edition of the BBVA startups competition.

PayKey was chosen by the jury as the winning project for this prize, based on its innovative approach to secure payments via social networks, using its own keypad that can be downloaded to cell phones.

“I am delighted with this award. It's always great to earn recognition from potential customers and your colleagues in the fintech world", said Darío Mutabdzija, Chairman and Head of Business Development at PayKey when accepting the prize.

The startup will now go straight through to the two weeks of immersion and interaction with BBVA, along with the six winners of BBVA Open Talent. An announcement on August 8 will reveal the finalists for this edition's finals in Europe, Latin America and USA and the rest of the world.
